 Plant of the Week: Jupiter's Beard

Jupiter's beard (Centranthus ruber) is a very hardy, drought tolerant perennial that is happy under a wide range of garden conditions. A native of the Mediterranean region, this fast-growing shrub grows up to 2 to 3 ft. tall and as wide. From spring through summer (and early fall) its stems are often topped with clusters of tiny, fragrant flowers in white, pink, or rose, that attract butterflies.
