Expert Advice

"Only $22.99 for a 3-gallon rose bush? No way!"
Way! All Payne's 3-gallon rose bushes retail for only $22.99, 'way less than the price of our distinguished competitors for the same amount of plant!
Payne's plants our No. 1 grade roses into 3 gallon containers in an exclusive soil recipe which includes a timed release fertilizer. It takes 8-10 weeks for the roses' roots to develop to the point where we think our customers will succeed with them. Knowing that our quantities are limited, some of you have shown eagerness to reserve your favorite roses early, so that you don't miss out on the jewels you hanker for.
Since we at Payne's don't want any of you rosarians to be unhappy, we're offering all our customers the opportunity to pre-purchase the roses you want before they're released for sale to the general drop-in public. In order to reserve the roses you want:
- Pre-pay for your rose selections in full at the time you place your reserve order. To place your order by telephone, call Valerie or Frannie at our South store on 715 St. Michael's Drive at 505-988-9626 or call Erin at our North store on 304 Camino Alire at 505-988-8011 (American Express, VISA, and MasterCard phone orders accepted). Or stop by either of our stores and pay in person (credit card, local check with ID, and cash accepted). Our rose staff will then set aside only the healthiest, strongest plants for you to pick up after they've adequately rooted in, which will approximately April 20, 2010.
- Come into Payne's South and pick up your reserved roses after April 20th. Since our last frost date is May 1st or so, after you bring your roses home, place them outside during the day, but bring them in at night or otherwise protect them from late hard frosts until the last frost date has passed and you can plant your bushes in the ground.
- When you pick up your roses, be sure to ask our staff for a copy of our tip entitled "Rose Cultivation & Care in Northern New Mexico." Or click here to download a copy directly from our website!
- And always remember: life can be a bed of roses!
