'Burgundy Iceberg™' is a medium-tall Floribunda Rose, introduced to commerce in 2007, that originated as a sport of 'Brilliant Pink Iceberg', itself descended from the famous white rose 'Iceberg' (which Payne's is also carrying this year). Floribundas are renowned for their masses of bloom, which repeat during the summer months.
'Burgundy Iceberg™' makes a rounded, bushy 3-foot shrub with nearly thornless stems and glossy light green foliage. All season long, long, pointed buds open to abundant clusters of 4.5-inch wide, doubled flowers . Each blossom bears 20 to 25 petals of a deep purplish-red with cream reverse (darker in cooler temperatures), and breathes a soft honey fragrance. A lovely landscape rose, 'Burgundy Iceberg™' is effective as a specimen plant, or planted en masse as a long-blooming bank cover. This rose was hybridized by Swane in 2007.
