Expert Advice

veterans_honor'Veterans' Honor®' Hybrid Tea was a Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year winner when it was introduced in 2000. And no wonder — the classic, thick-petaled, saturated red blossoms and healthy, statuesque bushes continue to be a paean to the courage of American veterans everywhere.

Each large, 5-foot tall bush is clothed with semiglossy, dark green leaves. Pointed, oval, deep red buds open to huge, 5 to 5.5-inch-wide, brilliant red blossoms held on very long 18 to 22-inch cutting stems. The flowers breathe a lovely light raspberry perfume, and fade as they age to pastel rose-red. Best of all, the long-stemmed blooms can last for up to 2 weeks in the vase if stems are recut and water is changed daily.
