Expert Advice

fragrant_cloud.2I was 17 when this rose burst on the gardening scene, and what a sensation it caused! Jackson & Perkins's Rose of the Year Winner for 1968, and winner of the prestigious Gamble Medal for perfume, 'Fragrant Cloud' Hybrid Tea remains one of the most powerfully scented Hybrid Teas in existence — even today, over 42 years since its introduction.

A compact, 3 to 4-foot bush, 'Fragrant Cloud' bears all season long clusters of pointed, slender, oval buds that open to huge 5-inch wide, bright coral blossoms on marvelous 16 to 20-inch cutting stems. Each flower is composed of 25 to 30 petals drenched in an old rose perfume that J & P describes as "intoxicating ... so luxurious that a single flower can scent a whole room!" If you love scented roses, you mustn't pass up 'Fragrant Cloud'.
