Malus Pumila 'Winesap'

One of the larger apples and the last to ripen in the fall. The trees are vigorous in growth but require 2-3 extra years before producing heavily. Skin is striped red over yellow; flesh is crisp, juicy and tart in flavor. Excellent for cooking and cider; good winter keeper.
