japanese pogada-wikiThis is a wonderful shade tree with dark grey-green bark that ages to attractive furrows; dark green divided leaves. Showy, drooping clusters of whitish sweetpea-like blossoms in spring, followed by decorative 4-7″ seedpods. Needs good drainage. Grows rapidly to a height of 40’ and continues to grow more slowly thereafter.
