Russian sage is seen “everywhere” around northern New Mexico because it’s a hardy, easy-care, woody stemmed shrub that is highly tolerant of a wide range of conditions. It resists insect pests, rabbits, and deer, and it attracts bees and butterflies. Drought tolerant once established.
